2010 - Jan - Alistair Bow appointed Chairman
of Nottingham Rugby Limited
Alistair Bow (Managing Director) has taken up the position of Chairman
of Nottingham Rugby Limited. Alistair has been a director since January
2008 working alongside Chairman Geoff Huckstep who retired at Christmas.
Alistair says ‘This appointment is an honour, and I look forward
to continuing the good work that Geoff has achieved over the last two years.
We have much to deal with over the coming weeks, including arranging a
ground for next season and seeking investment to guarantee the long-term
future of Nottingham Rugby. On behalf of the club I wish Geoff and his
family all the best for the future’.
2009 - Dec - Thomas Bow is Ready For A Cold
Winter
Thomas Bow has taken delivery of a new Mazda BT-50 4x4 Double Cab PickUp
which will operate in the Highway Maintenance Division. During the winter
periods the vehicle is fitted with a SnowEx Vee Pro 6000 Spreader for Winter
Maintenance contracts; the remainder of the year it will be used for traffic
management on the Framework Contract for Derbyshire County Council. Mick
Matthews (Maintenance Manager) states ' Winter Maintenance operations are
an important aspect of our business and our customers expect the highest
standards. This new vehicle will assist greatly with the new gritting contracts
covering 20 sites in Northamptonshire'
2009 - July - City Asphalt Strives for Sector
16
City Asphalt has
appointed Steve Gibson, who has many years experience with Quality and
Environmental Management Systems, to oversee the completion of its Sector
16 accreditation. Alex Gardner (Contracts Director) states 'our business
competes daily with the big UK Surfacing contractors and this will help
us in achieving our strategy of targeting new public sector clients in
an industry dominated by the quarry-based contractors. Our final audit
date has been set for Christmas 2009'.
2009 - June - Thomas Bow New Contract Awards
Thomas Bow have been awarded their first contract for Wakefield Metropolitan
District Council and have been successful in securing the Nottingham Park
Estate Term Contract for a further year (August 2010). John Allen (Contracts
Director) said 'our success on the Park Estate contract reflects the strong
commitment of Bow's team as well as The Nottingham Park Estate's confidence
in our ability to deliver quality work within budget. Our success with
the Wakefield Council contract is down to our commitment in targeting new
work for new public sector clients'.
2009 - June - Thomas Bow and City Asphalt
complete second year sponsorship with Nottingham Rugby
Thomas Bow and
City Asphalt have completed their second year sponsorship with Nottingham
Rugby and are pleased to announce they have just signed for a further
year. Alistair Bow (Managing Director) adds that this is the final year
of our initial three year agreement. Nottingham Rugby commences this season
in the new Championship League. With the addition of a new cup competition,
this coming season looks very exciting and we may see Nottingham challenging
for a position in the Guinness Premiership with the introduction of play
offs for promotion.
2009 - June - Thomas Bow awarded Framework Contracts
Thomas Bow has been
successful in securing two further Framework Contracts. The Nottingham
City Council Term Contract For Highway Works 2009-2011 and Kirklees Council
Minor Works Contract 2009-2010. Both contracts have provisions for an
extension of one year. Alistair Bow (Managing Director) said 'this now
brings our total number of Framework Contracts to five. Kirklees and Nottingham
City Council have just awarded us our first schemes which we hope to have
completed in September, 2009. Thomas Bow and City Asphalt has strong ambitions
for further growth in the Midlands and Yorkshire areas. With
the current downturn in the private sector market, we will be looking
very hard at opportunities that the public sector has to offer'.
